Dylan Arnett and Cleveland State will take the court against Dawson Garcia and Minnesota on Tuesday night in college basketball.
Cleveland State will travel north to Minneapolis on Tuesday night at the beginning of the third week of men’s college basketball. There, they will take on the Big Ten Conference’s Minnesota at Williams Arena. The Golden Gophers are 3-1 through the first two weeks of the regular season. They took down Oral Roberts and Omaha in the first week, both at Williams Arena. Dawson Garcia led Minnesota with 30 points in the 23-point win over ORU. Garcia came back and led the team with 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting in the four-point win over Omaha.
They stayed in Minneapolis for both games last week as well. They lost to North Texas in the middle of last week by three points and bounced back with a three-point win over Yale last weekend. Garcia led Minnesota in both of those games with 24 points in each contest. He is also averaging 7.3 points and 1.3 assists per game this season.
The Vikings have played five games through their first two weeks and are 3-2 in those games. They opened up the season with a road loss against Michigan, before heading home and beating Baldwin Wall by almost 40 points. They also lost to Kansas State on the road at the end of that first week by 13 points.
Last week, they beat Valparaiso by eight points early in the week and followed it up with a home win against Eastern Michigan last weekend. Dylan Arnett leads the team in scoring in his third season with Cleveland State. He is averaging 13.0 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. He is followed by Tevin Smith, who is averaging 11.8 points and 3.6 rebounds per game.
