Unbeaten Cincinnati, ranked 14th in the country, takes on Villanova on Tuesday in a Big East-Big 12 Battle matchup.
No. 14 Cincinnati (6-0) moved up two spots in the AP poll this week and hits the road on Tuesday night to take on Villanova (4-4) in a Big East-Big 12 Battle at Finneran Pavilion. The Bearcats reached the quarterfinals of the NIT last spring for the second consecutive season, finishing 22-15, but haven’t played in the NCAA tournament since 2019. The Wildcats, meanwhile, lost in the first round of the NIT for the second straight year to finish 18-16 and last played in March Madness when it reached the Final Four in 2022.

Cincinnati comes off a 77-59 win over visiting Alabama State on Wednesday night. Simas Lukošius led the offense with 16 points, while Jizzle James added 13. Lukošius averages 16.5 points, with James getting 13.8 points per game and Dillon Mitchell averaging 12.0 points and 8.5 rebounds.
Villanova will try to put together consecutive wins for the first time since starting 2-0. It comes off a 72-48 thrashing of visiting Rider on Wednesday night in which Eric Dixon scored 16 points and Jhamir Brickus dropped 15. Dixon averages 25.1 points and 6.6 boards while Wooga Poplar scores 12.5 points per game.
The Wildcats lead the all-time series 6-4, but the Bearcats have won the last three meetings, including a 68-50 win at home on Feb. 12, 2013 when both teams were in the Big East Conference. Wes Miller is 69-43 in his fourth year at Cincinnati, while Kyle Neptune is 39-36 since replacing Hall of Famer Jay Wright at Villanova in 2022.
