Donovan Oday and Cal State Fullerton will take the court against Tyler Bilodeau and UCLA on Friday night.
Cal State Fullerton will travel to Los Angeles, California, on Friday night, heading into the third weekend of men’s college basketball. There, they will take on UCLA at the Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins are 4-1 overall this season heading into the weekend. They opened the season as the No. 22 ranked team in the nation, taking on Rider at the Pauley Pavilion. They won that game by 35 points, led by the Oregon State transfer, Tyler Bilodeau, who dropped 18 points. They stayed at home later that week and lost their only game of the season against New Mexico by eight points.
They bounced back in the next week with two wins over Boston University by 31 points and Lehigh by 40 points, both in Los Angeles. Earlier this week, they took on Idaho State at home and won by 14 points. Bilodeau is leading the team in scoring, averaging 16.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. Sebastian Mack is averaging 11.4 points and 1.8 assists per game.
The Titans of Fullerton are coming into this weekend with an opposite record of 1-4 overall. They opened up the year with a loss to Grand Canyon on the road by 10 points, followed by Stanford on the road by 27 points. The second week wasn’t much better for this team, losing to Colorado on the road by 30 points and Oregon State by 19 points on the road.
They won their first game earlier this week when they went home to Fullerton, California, for the first time this season, taking their home court at Titan Gym. They took down Idaho State by just one point in their only win. Donovan Oday leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game despite shooting just 31.6% from the floor.
