Bucknell visits Maryland looking for its first win at College Park when the teams square-off on Wednesday evening in college basketball.
Maryland (5-1) has won its last two games and returns home to the Xfinity Center in College Park on Wednesday night to host Bucknell (4-3). The Terrapins missed the postseason after a 16-17 finish last season coming off an NCAA tournament bid in 2023. Coach Kevin Willard is in his third season leading the program with a record of 43-31. The Bison last saw the postseason in 2018, when they made their second straight March Madness appearance. Coach John Griffin III is in his second season with a record of 18-22.

Maryland stormed back from 14 points down at halftime to clip Villanova 76-75 at the Empire Classic on Sunday. Derik Queen drained two free throws with 19 seconds left and weathered two late shots to get the win. Queen finished with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Julian Reese posted 18 points and 10 boards. Queen scores 16.2 points per game, with Ja’Kobi Gillespie netting 14.5 points a night and Reese averaging 13.2 points and 9.3 rebounds.
Bucknell took a 57-53 loss at home to Rider on Saturday, cutting an eight-point deficit to one in the final 2:42. Josh Bascoe led the Bison with 13 points and Noah Williamson blocked three shots. Williamson averages 16.9 points and 7.7 rebounds and Bascoe knocks down 14.9 points per game.
The Terrapins are 8-0 against Bucknell, with every game played at home in a series that dates to 1976. The last meeting was the closest, with Maryland escaping with an 80-78 win on Nov. 18, 2017.
