Both Nebraska and Wisconsin are looking for bounce-back games and bowl eligibility when these two Big Ten rivals face off on Saturday in Lincoln, NE. With a win today, either the Huskers or Badgers will become bowl eligible with both teams sitting at .500. Both teams had such promising starts but recent losing streaks have thrown off high hopes. Nebraska started the season 5-1 but are now 5-5 and trying to break up a four-game losing streak. Wisconsin meanwhile has lost three in a row. Nebraska is coming off another one-score loss for its third game in a row when it lost to USC 28-20 last week.

New Trojans QB, Jayden Maiava, sparked some life for USC and threw for three touchdowns and he scored another on the ground. The Huskers scored first and even had a lead going into the final quarter but their offense stalled getting shut out for the rest of the game. Freshman QB Dylan Raiola somewhat struggled throwing for two interceptions and USC outgained Nebraska’s offense by nearly 150 yards. This game against Wisconsin will truly be a coin flip with the Huskers only being the -1-point favorite even at home.
Wisconsin bounced back a bit after a crushing loss against Iowa but the result was the same last week when the Badgers lost to Oregon 16-13. Wisconsin was shut out in the first quarter but the Badgers bounced back bringing a 13-6 lead into the fourth quarter. Like Nebraska though, Wisconsin wasn’t able to score in the fourth quarter. Wisconsin finished the day with only 226 yards. Whoever wins the turnover battle today will likely take this matchup. But Wisconsin has history on its side, with the Badgers winning 10 straight meetings against Nebraska. It is fair to expect a close and defensive battle in Nebraska for a chance at a bowl. With a win, Nebraska will be bowl eligible for the first time since 2016.
