After losing its first game of the season to drop to No. 11 in the CFP standings, Miami looks to bounce back on Senior Day at Hard Rock Stadium against Wake Forest on Saturday. The Hurricanes began the season a perfect 9-0 with a 5-0 mark in conference play. However, Miami suffered their first conference loss of the season on the road against Georgia Tech last week, dropping them outside the top-10 at 9-1 overall. Wake Forest, on the other hand, has lost two straight games to fall to 4-6 overall with a 2-4 record in conference play. The Deacs are 3-1 on the road this season, though, as they travel to Miami. This is the first meeting between these two teams since the 2013 season, with Miami winning the last seven matchups.Â

Most recently, the Hurricanes suffered their first loss of the season in a 28-23 loss to Georgia Tech in Atlanta last week. The Yellow Jackets rushed for 271 yards on 48 carries to dominate the game on the ground, while Miami QB Cam Ward’s 348 yards and three touchdowns weren’t enough to get the win.
As for Wake Forest, the Deac fell on the road in Chapel Hill to North Carolina by a final score of 31-24 lst week at Kenan Memorial Stadium. Wake Forest’s defense was dominant at times, sacking UNC quarterback Jacolby Criswell five times, but couldn’t stop UNC running back Omarion Hampton, who rushed for 244 yards and a touchdown in the win for the Tar Heels.
