USC goes for bowl eligibility when it takes on their biggest rival in this first Big Ten game against UCLA.
The first year in the Big Ten has not worked out the way USC and UCLA expected but this Victory Bell rivalry will still be a much watch as these two play their penultimate game of the season on Saturday night. UCLA was finally trending in the right direction this season winning three games in a row but that streak was derailed in the Bruins last game dropping to Washington 31-19 last week. UCLA was down 31-13 when the Huskies scored with less than two minutes left in the game.

The Bruins didn’t roll over scoring a touchdown with just nine seconds in the game but it was too little, too late. The outcome was disappointing for UCLA considering the Bruins held the lead to start the third and they were only down by four late in the fourth but two late scores did UCLA in. QB Ethan Garbers still looked good throwing for 267 yards and two touchdowns. USC is the slight -4-point favorite even going on the road traveling to the Rose Bowl.
USC got back to .500 in its last game beating Nebraska at home 28-20. Woody Marks rushed for 146 yards and the Trojans were rejuvenated by new quarterback Jayden Maiava who replaced Miller Moss. The switch paid off even though Maiva got off to a slow start. Maiava threw for three touchdowns for 259 yards and he rushed for another score. With a win, the Trojans become bowl eligible and they’ll have a lot more flexibility than UCLA who must win out. But USC must take advantage of this matchup where it is favored because the Trojans take on No. 6 Notre Dame next week.
