No. 23 UNLV needs a win on Friday night on the road at San Jose State to keep its hopes of a return to the Mountain West Championship Game alive.
With two conference games remaining on the regular season schedule, No.23 UNLV (7-3, 4-1 Mountain West) is still pushing to get back into the Mountain West Conference Championship game for the second year in a row. In order to get there the Rebels will need some help – No. 12 Boise State has already punched its ticket, leaving just one spot open. Currently Colorado State is in second place in the standings, at 5-0 in conference play. A Rams’ loss (they don’t play UNLV head-to-head this year) would open the door for UNLV, but the Rebels need to keep winning to keep that opportunity on the table. They’ll have to win on the road this week (in their final road game of the season), when they visit San Jose State (6-4, 3-3 Mountain West) on Friday night at CEFCU Stadium.
