UCLA (4-5) brings a three-game winning streak into Husky Stadium in Seattle on Friday night as it meets Washington (5-5) for the first time since the programs moved to the Big Ten Conference this season. The Bruins and Huskies are each 3-4 in conference play, tied for ninth in the 18-team league. It’s been a long fall for Washington from last season’s loss in the College Football Playoff National Championship under new coach Jeff Fisch, who came over from Arizona after Kalen DeBoer left for Alabama. UCLA also has a new coach as DeShaun Foster moved up from running backs coach after Chip Kelly resigned in February.

Mateen Bhaghani hit a 27-yard field goal with 4:49 left to lift the Bruins to a 20-17 win over visiting Iowa at the Rose Bowl on Nov. 8 after the Hawkeyes jumped to an early 10-0 lead. Ethan Garbers threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns along with two interceptions and T.J. Harden piled up 125 yards on 20 carries. Titus Mokiao-Atimalala and Logan Loya caught TD passes and Carson Schwesinger picked off two passes for the defense.
The Huskies trailed 28-0 at halftime and never got on track in a 35-6 loss at then-No. 6 Penn State on Saturday. The offense consisted of two second-half field goals by Grady Gross. Quarterback Will Rogers was benched after throwing for 59 yards and an interception while the ground game was held to 74 yards.
UCLA leads the all-time series 42-32-2 and the rivalry renews for the first time since the Bruins won their second straight game against the Huskies 40-32 on Sept. 30, 2022, at the Rose Bowl.
