Arizona can move the ball too, especially through the air. The Wildcats have one of the best wide receiver in the nation in junior Tetairoa McMillan. Through four games McMillan has caught 29 passes for 503 yards and four touchdowns.
Last week, McMillan caught six passes for 50 yards as Arizona beat a ranked Utah team 23-10. Defensively, Arizona forced two turnovers in the win.
This will be the first conference meeting between Arizona and Texas Tech, with Arizona joining the Big 12 this year. However, the teams do have an extensive history – mainly from their time together in the now-defunct Border Conference. Texas Tech won the first 15 meetings between 1937 and 1958, and leads the all-time series 26-5 with two ties.
After the Border Conference dissolved in the early 60s the two teams had a series in the 70s, but have played just three times since 1979. There was a home-and-home in 1988 and 1989, then a lone game in Tucson in 2019.
