Charles Pierre Jr and South Dakota will take the field against Tyler Van Dyke and Wisconsin on Saturday afternoon.
South Dakota will head on the road in the second week of college football to face the Big Ten’s Wisconsin at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison with a projected 71-degree sunny day. The Badgers opened up their season last week with a home game against Western Michigan 28-14. Miami (FL) transfer Tyler Van Dyke finished with 192 yards on 21 completions. All three of the offensive touchdowns came on the ground with Chez Mellisa, Tawee Walker and van Dyke. Mellusi led the ground game with 19 carries for 74 yards and Walker finished with 15 carries for 66 yards. Will Pauling led the team in receiving with six receptions for 60 yards followed by Bryson Green with four receptions for 39 yards. Van Dyke also lost a fumble in the game, a shaky one with his new team.

The Coyotes also won their first week game taking down Northern State 45-3. Despite the massive point differential, South Dakota has just 85 yards through the air on nine completions from Aidan Bouman. The ground game finished with 266 yards and four touchdowns including two players with 10+ carries.
Charles Pierre Jr. had 13 carries for 136 yards and two touchdowns averaging 10.5 yards per carry. Travis Theis followed him with 12 carries for 86 yards and a touchdown. Carter Bell had a 55-yard punt return touchdown and Keyondray Jones-Logan had a 97-yard kickoff return on the special teams side of the ball.
