Allegheny hosts Saint Vincent early Saturday afternoon as the Gators look to stay undefeated on the season. Allegheny went 3-7 in 2023 so this is a good start to the year as they should be favored at home against Saint Vincent. Allegheny went on the road to start the year and beat Bethany in West Virginia 20-14. The game was a Presidents’ Athletic Conference matchup and the Gators did not disappoint. This is the third year in a row that Allegheny has beat Bethany since rejoining the PAC and the Gators have now opened the season with a win in back-to-back years. The key now is to start stringing these wins together as they lost consecutive games after their opener in 2023. The key for Allegheny against Bethany was consistency. The team didn’t score in the first quarter but got the momentum going by scoring 20 unanswered points. Bethany scored a touchdown with a minute left but by then it was too little too late.

Saint Vincent meanwhile would likely prefer they get a fresh start after its season opener last week. The Bearcats struggled mightily on the road losing to Washington & Jefferson 59-6. This game was over in the first quarter when W&J scored 28 points. Saint Vincent did not score until the fourth quarter. This game will be another tough contest on the road but it should be a much closer matchup.
