Jovantae Barnes and Oklahoma will take the field against Blake Horvath and Navy on Friday night in the Armed Forces Bowl.
Oklahoma will travel to Fort Worth, Texas on Friday afternoon for the Lockhead Martin Armed Forces Bowl and play Navy. In Texas they will play on a neutral field at Amon G. Carter Stadium, home of Texas Christian University. The Midshipmen finished their season with nine wins and three losses. There was one point in the season when Navy was a Top 25 ranked team. They started out the season 6-0 before losing their first game against the Notre Dame.
They made it back-to-back losses with a road loss to Rice in their worst loss of the season. Their third loss came against former No. 25-ranked Tulane. Their best win this season came last week in the annual Army-Navy game where they beat the No. 22 ranked team in the country, 31-13. Blake Horvath threw for 107 yards and two touchdowns in the win, while running for 204 yards and another two touchdowns.
The Sooners are 6-6 overall this season heading into their bowl game. They too were a former Top 25 ranked team in the country. They opened up the season at No. 16, before losing to No. 6 Tennessee by 10 points. They then lost to former No. 1 Texas in the Red River Rivalry. They lost to two more ranked teams in Ole Miss and Missouri.
The other ranked losses came against South Carolina and LSU, which was their regular season clincher. In the loss, Jackson Arnold, who has since transferred to Auburn, threw for 110 yards and ran for 75 yards to lead the team in both stats. J.J. Hester caught one pass for 50 yards to lead the team.
