No. 2 Ohio State looks to keep pace at the top of the CFP standings against Northwestern on Saturday.
With three more games remaining in the regular season for the second-ranked Buckeyes, No. 2 Ohio State will square off with Northwestern in a special Wrigley Field neutral site game in Chicago on Saturday. After losing on the road to top-ranked Oregon last month, Ohio State has rattled off three-straight wins to improve to 8-1 overall with a 5-1 mark in conference play and 2-1 road record. The Buckeyes will play in their first neutral site game of the season this weekend, with aspirations of going deep into the CFP tournament. Northwestern, on the other hand, got back in the win column last week to improve to 4-5 overall with a 2-4 mark in conference play. Ohio State has won ten consecutive games over Northwestern, including a 21-7 win in 2022.

Most recently, Ohio State cruised to a 45-0 victory over one-win Purdue last week at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. Will Howard threw for three touchdowns and 260 passing yards in the win, while Jeremiah Smith had 87 receiving yards and a score as Ohio State’s top receiver.
As for Northwestern, the Wildcats had a huge overtime victory over Purdue in a 26-20 win last week. Joseph Himon finished the game with 112 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning score in overtime on a 22-yard pass from Jack Lausch. Himon had a career-long 51-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
