The San Diego State Aztecs welcome the New Mexico Lobos to town on Friday night in a Mountain West showdown. The Aztecs come into Friday looking to get back in the win column after losing the last two games to Washington State and Boise State. They had won two in a row heading into their game with Washington State, but they blew a 12-point fourth-quarter lead to fall to the Cougars. They gave up two touchdowns in the last 12 minutes of the game to lose. Last week against they held down Ashton Jeanty for a half, but still gave up 35 points and trailed by 25 at half. The second half wasn’t much better and they lost to the Broncos 56-24. They now sit at 3-5 overall and 2-1 in the Mountain West. They will hit the road for two straight games against UNLV and Utah State after this game, but first want to get a big home win and stay in the race for the conference championship game.

The Lobos, though, are looking to come to town and upset the Aztecs and pull back even in the Mountain West.
They come into Friday on a two-game losing streak and just 3-6 in the overall. They have lost close games the last two weeks against Colorado State and Wyoming.
The back-to-back losses comes after they had won three games in a row to start off their Mountain West schedule.
They had a rough start to the season as they lost their first four games of the season, but had bounced back to win the three straight. They have started to struggle again, though, and are needing to get a win on Friday night to keep their hopes of making a bowl alive.
