In SEC action this week, Mississippi State welcomes Missouri to Starkville for homecoming weekend this Saturday.
It’s homecoming weekend in Starkville, as Mississippi State (2-8, 0-6) wraps up the home portion of its schedule when the Missouri Tigers (7-3, 3-3 SEC) visit Davis Wade Stadium for an SEC matchup. This will be just the fifth ever meeting between the two schools, and the first since 2020. Mississippi State won that game 51-32, and also beat Missouri in 2015 in the only two matchups between the schools as SEC opponents. Missouri won the first two ever meetings, which took place in the 1980s.

Mississippi State – which is coming off of a bye week last week – is still looking for its first conference win of the year. This will be the Bulldogs’ second to last chance to get one, ahead of the Egg Bowl against Ole Miss next week. Last time out, the Bulldogs fell 33-14 to No. 10 Tennessee. That game was played in Knoxville. In their last home game they came away with the win, beating UMass 45-20.
Missouri did play last week, and is coming off of a tough game. The Tigers allowed a late touchdown as they fell to No. 19 South Carolina 34-30. That continued a stretch were Missouri has alternated wins and losses in each of its last four games, with three of those games coming down to the wire.
Kickoff from Starkville on Saturday is set for 4:15 p.m. ET. You can find coverage of the game on the SEC Network, where Taylor Zarzour and Matt Stinchcomb will be on the call.
