Coming into this game, Miami has won three in a row and three of its last four. That includes its biggest win of the season last Saturday – a 46-7 defeat of Central Michigan at home. Sophomore wide receiver Javon Tracy had a big game in that one, catching five passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.
It was just a dominant of a day from the RedHawks’ defense, which held the Chippewas to 168 total yards of offense and just 3.2 yards per play. Miami has been one of the best defensive teams in the MAC this year, ranking second allowing 19.9 points per game.
Ball State is coming in off a more narrow win. Last week the Cardinals took care of business on Homecoming, beating Northern Illinois 25-23. It was a 52-yard Jackson Courville field goal in the final seconds that made the difference in that one.
