With both teams riding three-game winning streaks into this weekend’s matchup, Robert Morris plays a non-conference matchup against Merrimack at Joe Walton Stadium on Saturday. After a huge conference win over Saint Francis last week, Robert Morris has won three straight games to improve their record to 5-3 overall with a perfect 3-0 mark in conference play. The Colonials are also a near-perfect 4-1 at Walton Stadium compared to 1-2 on the road. Merrimack, on the other hand, has also won three consecutive games to improve to 4-4 overall with an even 2-2 mark in road games this season. This is the first-ever matchup between these two teams.

Most recently, Robert Morris’s defense shut down Saint Francis in a 17-0 win in Moon Township last week. Anthony Chiccitt threw for 197 yards while Tyvon Edmonds Jr. rushed for 69 yards and a touchdown. A stingy Colonials defense was led by Jamar Shegog’s team-high 10 tackles, while reigning NEC Defensive Player of the Week Keon Freeman had seven tackles.
As for Merrimack, the Warriors offense erupted in a 51-17 victory over Colgate last week in North Andover. Merrimack quarterback Ayden Pereira threw for a career-high 292 yards and three touchdowns in the win, while also rushing for 103 yards and a score. Seth Sweltzer led the team in receiving with four receptions for 73 yards.
