The first full week of Bowl Season kicks off Tuesday night when Memphis and West Virginia meet in the Frisco Bowl.
Bowl season begins in-full on Tuesday, with one late night matchup. It’s the Frisco Bowl kicking things off with a matchup between No. 25 Memphis (10-2, 6-2 AAC) and West Virginia (6-6, 5-4 Big 12). This is the first appearance in this bowl game – which began in 2017 – for both programs. Memphis is looking for its third consecutive season with a bowl win, which would be a first in program history. A win would also give the Tigers 11 wins on the year, their most in a season since 2019. West Virginia won the Duke’s Mayo Bowl last year and is looking for its first back-to-back bowl wins since winning four in a row from 2005 to 2008.

Memphis closed the season strong, winning seven of its eight final games. That included an upset win over then-No. 17 Tulane in the regular season finale. The Tigers went into New Orleans and beat the Green Wave 34-24 in that one.
As for West Virginia, the Mountaineers had an up-and-down season never winning or losing more than two games in a row. However they did win three of their last five games. Head coach Neal Brown was fired after the regular season finale. While Rich Rodriguez was hired as his replacement it will be interim head coach Chad Scott – this year’s offensive coordinator – coaching the bowl game.
This one kicks off at 9:00 p.m. ET. ESPN will have the coverage of the game.
