After consecutive road wins, third ranked Montana State opens home slate against visiting Maine
For the first time ever, Maine (1-0) travels to Bozeman to take on perennial FCS powerhouse Montana State (2-0) tonight inside Bobcat Stadium in search of its first 2-0 start since 2018. Montana State has opened the 2024 campaign with back-to-back road wins beating New Mexico and Utah Tech and now has four of its next five games at home in the final two tests before Big Sky Conference play begins later this month. Despite these programs never facing each other, there is some familiarity as Montana State’s leading receiver Rohan Jones began his career at Maine and the Black Bears leading rusher Jaharie Martin transferred to Maine from Montana State.
