No. 8 LSU visits Arkansas on Saturday for the ‘Battle of the Boot.’
The Golden Boot is on the line this Saturday, when No. 8 LSU (5-1, 2-0) visits Arkansas (4-2, 2-1 SEC). This rivalry has been played 69 times since 1901, and the Golden Boot Trophy – resembling the shape of the two states stacked on top of each other – has been a part of the series since 1996. LSU leads the all-time series 42-23 with two ties, and has won each of the last two meetings and seven of the last eight. However, this could be a tricky spot for the Tigers with Arkansas coming off a major upset win last time out.

In that game two weeks ago, Arkansas hosted then-No. 4 Tennessee at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. It was the Arkansas defense that helped the Razorbacks grind to a 19-14 win, holding Tennessee to just 5.1 yards per play and 158 total passing yards.
That wasn’t the only time the Razorbacks have flirted with an upset either. The week before on a neutral field in Dallas, they took No. 14 Texas A&M to the wire before losing 21-17.
Now, it’s LSU’s turn to go into Fayetteville. The Tigers are coming off of a high of their own last week, coming back to beat then-No. 9 Ole Miss 29-26 in overtime. With that win the Tigers remained one of just three teams without a conference loss in the SEC, joining Texas A&M and No. 1 Texas.
It’s a 7:00 p.m. ET kickoff for this one on Saturday. Coverage of the game can be found on ESPN, with Mark Jones and Roddy Jones on the call.
