Jaxson Dart‘s Heisman campaign continues when No. 6 Ole Miss hosts Kentucky on Saturday.
Through four weeks of the 2024 college football season, quarterback Jaxson Dart is viewed by many as one of the favorites if not the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Dart has put up eye-popping numbers to start the season, completing an SECN-leading 79.8 percent of his passes for an SEC-leading 1,554 yards with 12 touchdowns and just two interceptions. His 219.4 passer rating also leads all FBS players. However, a lot of that came against a lighter easier schedule for No. 6 Ole Miss (4-0, 0-0 SEC). This week Dart will have a chance to show what he can do against tougher competition, as Ole Miss opens conference play against Kentucky (2-2, 0-2 SEC) on Saturday.

Kentucky is just two weeks removed from what was nearly a statement win. The Wildcats hosted then-No. 1 Georgia two weeks ago and kept a lead late into that game, holding Georgia’s offense almost silent before falling 13-12 after a late Bulldog touchdown. Kentucky kept that momentum going last week, with a 41-6 win over Ohio.
This will also be the first road test of the year for Kentucky. The Wildcats were able to open with four games in a row at home. They now head to Vaught–Hemingway Stadium, where Ole Miss is 3-0 to start this season and where the Rebels haven’t lost since the 2022 season. Kentucky hasn’t won a game in Oxford since 1978.
Ole Miss leads this all-time series 29-14 with one tie. The Rebels have won three head-to-head matchups in a row, going back to 2017.
