Hawaii will head on the road in Week 8 of the college football season to take on Washington State at Gesa Field in Pullman, Washington, on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars head into this game with a 5-1 overall record through seven weeks. Their only loss came two weeks ago against the top-25 ranked Boise State and Ashton Jeanty. Other than that road game, they have beaten Portland State and Texas Tech at home followed by a win at Washington before heading back home to beat San Jose State. Last week they beat Fresno State 25-17 on the road. Sophomore quarterback John Mateer leads the offense for Washington State. He has 1,601 yards through the air with 13 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also leads the team in rushing with 499 yards on 95 carries for an additional six touchdowns. Kyle Williams has caught 28 receptions for 503 yards and five touchdowns.

The Rainbow Warriors are just 2-4 through six games and seven weeks. They are the third-to-last ranked team in the Mountain West Conference winless against conference teams.They beat Northern Iowa two weeks ago before losing two straight on the road against San Diego State and at home last week against top-25 ranked Boise State.
