Maalik Murphy and Duke will take the field against Cam Ward and the No. 5 ranked Miami on Saturday.
Duke will travel on the road in Week 10 of the college football season to take on the No. 5 ranked team in the nation, Miami (FL), at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Saturday afternoon. The Hurricanes are undefeated this season and have been slowly climbing up the rankings in the AP Top 25. They are now up to a top-five spot for the first time this year after going 8-0 overall and 4-0 against Atlantic Coast Conference teams. They opened up conference play with a 38-34 home win against Virginia Tech before going on the road and beating California and Louisville.
Their hardest non-conference schedule win came against Florida on the road, 41-17, in the first game of the season. Transfer quarterback Cam Ward has been dominant this season and is rising up the Heisman and NFL big boards. He has 2,746 yards and 24 touchdowns through the air with just five interceptions. His favorite target has been Xavier Restrepo, who has 43 receptions for 710 yards and six of his 24 touchdowns.
The Blue Devils head into this week with two conference losses under their belt this season. They are 6-2 overall and 2-2 against conference teams. They opened up ACC play with a 21-point comeback win over North Carolina before losing on the road to Georgia Tech. They went back home and beat Florida State, 23-16, before losing last week to SMU at home, 28-27 in overtime.
Maalik Murphy leads the team under center this season. The Duke starting quarterback is 164-for-280 with 1,796 yards and 17 touchdowns with five interceptions through eight games. On the ground, Star Thomas leads the attack with 151 carries for 681 yards and five scores himself.
