The BYU Cougars hit the road on Saturday afternoon to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils in a Big 12 battle. The Cougars come into Saturday looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the year last Saturday. The Cougars had narrowly escaped Utah the week before, but their luck ran out as they couldn’t overcome their mistakes in a 17-13 loss to Kansas. The loss dropped them to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the Big 12. They are still in position to make the Big 12 title game, but they can’t afford a loss on Saturday. They are currently tied with Colorado for the top spot in the conference, but are just one game up on Iowa State and the Sun Devils. If they win out they will be in the conference title game, but a loss would drop them into a second-place tie and on the outside looking in. They finish their season next week against Houston but have to get by a good Sun Devils team first.

The Sun Devils, though, are looking to pick up the huge win and put themselves in line to make the conference title game. They have been great football as they come into Saturday on a three-game winning streak and fresh off an upset win over No. 16 Kansas State on Saturday. They have now won five of their last six game to moved to 8-2 overall and 5-2 in the Big 12.
They have been led by the duo of Sam Leavitt and Cam Skattebo. Leavitt has thrown for 1,906 yards and 17 touchdowns, while Skattebo has rushed for a team-best 1,074 yards and 11 touchdowns.
