With the MAC representatives riding a four-game winning streak into the Bahamas Bowl in Nassau this weekend, Buffalo squares off against Liberty for the fourth time on Saturday. After losing back-to-back conference games to open their MAC slate 1-2, Buffalo won its last four games to finish the regular season with a 8-4 overall record and a 6-2 mark in MAC play. However, the Bulls won five of their eight games at home, with just a 3-3 record on the road. Liberty, on the other hand, lost its regular-season finale but managed to finish the season with an 8-3 record and a 5-3 mark in conference play. This is the fourth-ever matchup between these two teams, with Liberty winning the previous three matchups, including a 55-27 victory last season.Â

Most recently, Buffalo dominated its regular-season finale with a 43-7 rout of Kent State on senior night at UB Stadium on Nov. 27. Buffalo quarterback C.J. Ogbonna threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns wihle rushing for 51 yards and two more scores in his final game at UB Stadium. Wide receiver Victor Snow was Ogbonna’s top target, finishing the game with eight catches for 99 yards, setting career highs in both categories.
As for Liberty, the Flames fell in their regular-season finale to Sam Houston State by a final score of 20-18 in Huntsville on Nov. 29. The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Liberty, with Quinton Cooley failing to eclipse the 100-yard rushing mark for the game for the first time in five contests. Cooley finished the game with 90 rushing yards on 19 carries.
Buffalo and Liberty will now meet in the Bahamas Bowl in Nassau on Saturday.
