The Lions opened the season with a convincing win on the road at West Virginia last week, while Bowling Green also started the season off on the right foot with a dominant victory over Fordham. This will mark just the third time these two teams have ever played, with the last matchup coming all the way back in 1998. Penn State has never lost to Bowling Green, with two dominant wins by final scores of 48-3 and 45-19. The Falcons are just 5-24 all-time against AP-Rnaked opponents.

The Lions outscored West Virginia 20-6 in the second quarter to pull away, then coasted to victory. As for the Falcons, Bowling Green opened its season with a 41-17 victory over Fordham last Thursday night. Justin Pegues returned the game’s opening kickoff for a touchdown to set an early tone, while Terion Stewart ran for 161 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
