With the surging Eagles off to a terrific start in the head coach Bill O’Brien era, Boston College heads on the road to take on Virginia in Charlottesville on Saturday afternoon. O’Brien has Boston College on the map with a 4-1 record after winning its first game in ACC play at Florida State to kickoff the season. The Eagles have won two straight games and are 1-0 in conference play. However, they’ve three of their four games at home. Virginia, on the other hand, got back in the win column last week to improve to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Boston College is 7-1 overall against Virginia, with a 27-24 victory in Chestnut Hill last season.

Most recently, Boston College overcame an injury to starting quarterback Thomas Castellanos to earn a 21-20 victory over Western Kentucky in Chestnut Hill. Boston College backup Grayson James led the biggest fourth-quarter comeback in program history to erase a 12-point deficit, finding Jerand Bradley on an eight-yard touchdown with 3:33 remaining to take the lead.
As for Virginia, the Cavaliers run game fueled a 43-24 victory over Coastal Carolina in Conway last week. The Hoos rushed for 384 yards on the day, the first time Virginia topped the 300-yard rushing mark since the 2018 season. Xavier Brown rushed for 171 yards on just nine carries in the win.
