The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets battle the Vanderbilt Commodores on Friday afternoon in the Birmingham Bowl. The Yellow Jackets finished the regular season 7-5 and are coming off a near upset of Georgia in their regular season finale. The loss to the Bulldogs snapped a two-game winning streak for the Yellow Jackets. They had picked up an upset win over No. 4 Miami and knocked off NC State, but came up just short in an eight-overtime marathon against the Bulldogs. The Yellow Jackets were led by Hayen King, as he threw for 1,910 yards and 11 touchdowns and also rushed for 578 yards and 11 touchdowns. Eric Singleton Jr. and Malik Rutherford were his top targets this season, as they had 56 and 59 receptions respectively. They both scored three touchdowns and combined for 1,424 yards. Jamal Haynes led the team in rushing with 808 yards and nine touchdowns.

The Commodores will have their hands full trying to stop their offense as they look to pick up a rare bowl win.
The Commodores had a surprising year and finished the regular season 6-6. They picked up a huge upset of then No. 1 Alabama and almost knocked off No. 7 Missouri.
They also lost by just three points to Texas, but they stumbled down the stretch, as they lost four of their last five games. It was still a successful season for the Commodores and they are hoping to finish it was the bowl win.
Diego Pavia led the team in both passing and rushing this season. He threw for 2,133 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing for 716 yards and six touchdowns.
