Auburn and Georgia are both looking to bounce back from stunning losses when they meet in Athens, GA on Saturday.
Georgia is looking to bounce back from one of the best games of the young 2024 College Football season when they host Auburn on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs are huge -22 favorites after losing to another Alabama team last week. That came against the Crimson Tide in another classic matchup between these SEC rivals. Alabama won at home 41-34 in a game a roller coaster analogy wouldn’t do justice. The Crimson Tide held a 28-0 lead early in the second quarter and the game already looked over. Even by halftime, Georgia was still down 30-7. Then the Bulldogs turned on the jets and nearly completed one of the most improbable comebacks.

Through the third and most of the fourth quarter, Alabama had only scored a field goal while Georgia put up four touchdowns along with 21 unanswered points ending in a stunning 67-yard pass from Carson Beck to Dillon Bell who went all the way to the house to go up 34-33 and stun the Crimson Tide faithful. But that didn’t deter Jalen Milroe who on the very first play of the next Alabama possession completed a 75-yard pass to Ryan Williams to narrowly avoid the epic collapse. If feels inevitable that we will see these two once again in the SEC Championship.
Georgia fell from No. 2 to No. 5 with the loss but the good news for those in Athens, GA today is that they’re the heavy favorites against an Auburn team that is still trying for its first conference win and they are trying to avoid losing three in a row. The Tigers made it close at home against the No. 21 Oklahoma Sooners last week dropping 27-21. Auburn was up 21-10 early in the fourth quarter but the Sooners scored 17 unanswered the rest of the game to stun the Tigers. Kip Lewis sealed the game with a 61-yard interception return for a touchdown for the Sooners’ first-ever SEC win. Both Auburn and Georgia both have a lot to avenge this afternoon.
