    No. 4 Alabama makes a rare regular-season trip north of the Mason-Dixon Line to visit unbeaten Wisconsin on Saturday

    The last-time fourth-ranked Alabama (2-0) went north of the Mason-Dixon Line for a true road game, the global pandemic thriller Contagion was the No. 1 film in U.S. theaters. But on Saturday, the Crimson Tide crosses the line for the first time since Sept. 10, 2011, when they visit Wisconsin (2-0) at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. Alabama held steady in the Associated Press Top 25 after turning a close game into a late rout a week ago. Wisconsin, unbeaten and unranked, didn’t overwhelm in a win at home over an FCS foe.

    The Tide struggled against visiting South Florida for three quarters on Sept. 7, taking a 14-13 lead into the final 15 minutes before pulling away for a 42-16 win. Ryan Williams hauled in a 43-yard touchdown pass from Jalen Milroe with 5:50 remaining to make it a two-score game at 28-16. Milroe finished 16-of-26 for 194 yards and two touchdowns while adding two TDs on the ground, while Jamarion Miller picked up 140 yards and a score on 15 carries.

    The Badgers took a 14-0 lead a little more than 10 minutes into the game before putting away South Dakota 27-13. The Coyotes got as close as 17-13 in the third quarter and Chez Mellusi put the game away with a one-yard scoring run midway through the fourth. Tyler Van Dyke was 17-of-27 for 214 yards and a touchdown as the Badgers added 171 yards on the ground, 73 on just eight carries by Cade Yacamello. Mellusi scored twice, finishing with 60 yards.

    Alabama has outscored Western Kentucky and South Florida by a combined 105-16 to open the season, while Wisconsin victories over Western Michigan and South Dakota have come by a less gaudy 55-27 margin. Milroe is 23-of-35 for 394 yards and five TDs, three of those to Williams, who has six grabs for 207 yards. Mellusi leads Wisconsin with 134 yards and three TDs on the ground.

    The all-time series is tied 1-1, with the Crimson Tide winning the last meeting 35-17 in Dallas on Sept. 5, 2015. Wisconsin won the first meeting 15-0 at Madison in 1928.
