Kent State looks to get its first win of the season on Tuesday night when it hosts Akron
The Kent State Golden Flashes welcome the Akron Zips to town on Tuesday night in a MAC showdown. The Golden Flashes come into Tuesday still looking for their first win of the season as they have lost their first 10 games. Last Wednesday they struggled on offense again as they fell to Mami (OH) 34-7. It was the fifth time this season the Golden Flashes have scored under 10 points. It was also the eighth time this year that the defense has given up at least 34 points. The Golden Flashes will need a good game from quarterback Tommy Ulatowski as they try and get their first win. Ulatowski has thrown for 1,035 yard and 12 touchdowns this season. His top targets have been Chrishon McCray and Luke Floriea as they both have 37 receptions and have combined for 1,172 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Zips haven’t been a lot better this season, but they do have two wins on the season. They beat Colgate 31-20 back in their third game and then slipped by Eastern Michigan on October 26th.
Since that win over the Eagles, they have dropped two straight to Buffalo and Northern Illinois. Those losses have dropped them to 2-8 overall and 1-5 in the MAC.
This is the last home game of the season for the Zips as they will finish their season with a home game against Toledo next Tuesday.
The Zips have been led by quarterback Ben Finley who has thrown for 2,160 yards and 13 touchdowns. He has turned the ball over nine times, though, and will need to be better with the ball if they want to win on Tuesday.
