Second-seeded UCLA takes on Creighton on Monday in the second round of the Women’s NCAA Tournament.
UCLA battles Crieghton on Monday night with a berth in the Sweet 16 on the line. The Bruins got past No. 15 Cal Baptist on Saturday 84-55. Kiki Rice led the way with 20 points and Gabriela Jaquez added 17 to help the Bruins cruise to an easy win. They outscored the Lancers by nine in the first quarter and never trailed en route to the first round win. The win was their seventh in the last eight games and helped them bounce back from a double-overtime loss to rival USC in the Pac-12 Tournament. The Bruins now sit at 26-6 on the season. Lauren Betts has been the team’s leading scorer at 14.7 points per game, while Charisma Osborne is right behind her at 14.4 points per game.

The Bluejays will need to slow down the duo if they want to have any chance to pick up the upset win and make the Sweet 16.
The Bluejays got to the second round by beating UNLV 87-73 on Saturday. The early part of the game was tight, but the Bluejays led by seven at the end of the first and they didn’t let the Rebels get closer than four the rest of the way.
Lauren Johnson was great for the Bluejays as she scored 25 points and Emma Ronsiek added 23 of her own to lead Creighton to the first round win.
