Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets look to get back on track at home against the Utah Jazz.
The odd and uneven start to the 2024-2025 season for the Denver Nuggets (2-3) continues at home against the Utah Jazz (0-5). This is the first game in a five game homestand for Denver who have struggled at home losing its last three games. Two losses to start this season and game seven of the Western Conference Semifinals. Over the last two seasons Denver went 67-15 at home in the regular season and 13-4 in the playoffs winning the 2023 NBA Championship. These next five games give Denver the opportunity to find some rhythm and chemistry over the next eight days around Nikola Jokic who is averaging a career-high in points and playing like the MVP again despite the team’s struggles.

Jokic is putting up 30.4 points per game, three more than his second MVP season and four more than his first and third MVP seasons. He is also averaging a career-high 10.0 assists per game along with 11.6 rebounds on 56-56-78 shooting splits.
Denver needs the players around Jokic to step up and play like they have in previous seasons. The only five players averaging at least double-figures scoring are the other five starters with Aaron Gordon (18.6 points) having a career-best start to the season while Jamal Murray is averaging his lowest points per game in six years and Michael Porter Jr. is averaging his lowest points per game in five seasons.
For Utah, it is the only winless team in the league. Through five games has the lowest scoring offense in the league and the 18th best scoring defense. Utah is the only team not averaging at least 100 points per game and one of just six averaging less than 110 points per game in the NBA.
