Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks host the Utah Jazz for the first time this season.
The Dallas Mavericks (1-1) look to bounce back after its first loss of the regular season. Dallas looked terrific in the season-opener with Luka Doncic flirting with a 30 point triple-double and Klay Thompson having an historic debut for his new team. Thompson splashed home six of his 10 three-pointers, a record for a new member of the team in their debut. They take on the Utah Jazz (0-2) who are still searching for their first win of the regular season. Utah has allowed 126.5 points per game through two games, opening the door for huge nights for Doncic, Thompson and Kyrie Irving to start the second week of the 2024-2025 NBA season.

Doncic followed up his 28 point, 10 rebound and eight assist season debut with a 40 point outburst in Dallas’ first loss of the season. Playing against Utah has always brought out the best in Doncic with then MVP contender averaging 27.3 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game in the regular season.
Thompson has given Doncic a new running mate stretching the floor and scoring in ways only he can. Through two games Thompson is averaging 20.5 points per game on 30% shooting from three. He splashed home six in the season-opener and then five more in Dallas’ loss to the Phoenix Suns.
For Utah it is one of just five winless teams and will try to avoid being one of just two teams with three losses to start the season. All-Star Lauri Markkanen is leading the way with 24.0 points per game shooting 41.7% from three for a Utah offense that has the potential to score with the best teams in the league.
