San Antonio Spurs play the back end of a back-to-back when they visit the winless Utah Jazz on Thursday night.
The San Antonio Spurs (1-3) lost to the last unbeaten team in the Western Conference on Wednesday night and on Thursday, they go to the other extreme when they taken on the West’s last winless club, the Utah Jazz (0-4), at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Utah lost forward Taylor Hendricks for the season with a fractured right fibula and dislocated ankle on Tuesday night and All-Star stretch big Lauri Markkanan left that game with back spasms as well. Rookie guard Isaiah Collier has yet to play this season because of a hamstring injury. Spurs wing Devin Vassell has no timetable to return from a foot injury and point guard Tre Jones didn’t play on Wednesday with an ankle issue.

Reigning Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama was limited to six points in 27 minutes as San Antonio fell 105-93 to the host Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. Harrison Barnes scored 18 points while Jeremy Sochan added 17 points and nine rebounds and Chris Paul had 14 points and nine assists. Wembanyama did block three shots.
On Tuesday night, the Jazz were routed at home by the Sacramento Kings 113-96. Jordan Clarkson led the offense with 21 points while John Collins tossed in 18. Keyonte George finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Sochan leads the Spurs with 18.5 points per game, while Wembanyama gets 16.4 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.8 blocks a night. Paul averages 9.0 points and 7.3 assists. Markkanen is getting 18.0 points a game for Utah and Walker Kessler averages 8.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. Clarkson adds 15.5 points a night and George gets 12.8 points and 6.5 assists.
