The San Antonio Spurs go for their third win in a row when they travel to take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday.
The San Antonio Spurs and Philadelphia 76ers face-off for the first time this season in the City of Brotherly Love of Monday night. After back-to-back wins against the Charlotte Hornets, Philadelphia was brought back down to earth in its last game, losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers 126-99 on Saturday. The Sixers still haven’t won double-digit games yet and are 12 games back of the division leading Boston Celtics, as Philly has had to deal with a plethora of injuries to start the season. With the win, Cleveland has now won 25 of its first 29 games, as Darius Garland led the Cavs with 26 points. Tyrese Maxey outdid him by one with a game-high 27 points, but he didn’t get the necessary help needed to take down the best team in the league.
Cleveland shot 51.2 percent from three-point range and it didn’t help that Joel Embiid didn’t play after scoring 34 points in the game, sitting out against the Cavs with a sinus fracture and knee soreness. Embiid is not listed on the injury report, so hopefully for Sixers fans he will suit up for this one against the Spurs.

San Antonio has been playing very well lately, winning four of its last five games and it will be playing for its third win in a row tonight. The Spurs are coming off a comfortable win against the Portland Trail Blazers by a 114-94 final on Saturday.
Victor Wembanyama went off with 30 points and he matched a career-high 10 blocks against the Blazers. He still led the game in points even though he sat out most of the fourth quarter and San Antonio secured its largest margin of victory of the season. If Embiid doesn’t play this game, the odds should significantly swing in San Antonio’s direction.
