Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns close out group play in the NBA Cup against Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs.
The biggest game on the final day of group play in the NBA Cup showcases two teams vying for a spot in the quarterfinals. The Phoenix Suns (11-8) head into this game tied with the San Antonio Spurs (11-9) in West Group B, but have a one point edge in point differential. A win would put Phoenix in a great position to advance to Las Vegas as one of the teams in the quarterfinals. With a win and an Oklahoma City Thunder loss, Phoenix would win the group outright. That is what Kevin Durant and Victor Wembanyama will be playing for in the final day of group play in the 2024 NBA Cup.

Phoenix hit a rough patch losing six of seven games while Durant was out with injury. Since he returned Phoenix is 2-1 and are starting to look like the team that started the season with one of the best records in the Western Conference.
Since returning, Durant is averaging 24.7 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. With Durant in the lineup everyone else falls into their natural positions giving Phoenix one of the best scoring duos in the league alongside Devin Booker.
That will be tested against this San Antonio team which has seven of the last 10 games overall and three of four since Wembanyama returned from injury. He is also in the midst of the best individual stretch of the season as well, averaging 28.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game.
