Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers take on Bam Adebayo and the Miami Heat.
The Philadelphia 76ers (2-10) struck gold five years ago drafting Tyrese Maxey with the 21st overall pick. They look to have done it again with the 16th overall pick in rookie Jared McCain. With injuries mounting again for Philadelphia it has opened up the opportunity for McCain to play a larger role. The rookie has been outstanding, scoring double-figures in five straight games averaging 26.2 points and 4.2 assists per game on 48-44-100 shooting splits. He will look to keep rolling against the Miami Heat (5-7) alongside Paul George and Joel Embiid, who is questionable with an illness.

Despite the elite play of McCain in his rookie season Philadelphia is tied for the fewest wins in the NBA and are one of just four teams in the league with 10 or more losses. They have a lot of ground to make up this season as Embiid slowly gets back into MVP form.
Since making his debut this season Embiid is averaging just 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He has struggled from the floor in those games, both losses, shooting a combined 7-26 from the field and just 1-10 from three. The one positive for Embiid has been his performance from the free-throw line shooting 18-18 in his 59 minutes on the floor.
George is also trying to find his footing through six games with Philadelphia this season. He only has one game of 20-plus points and is a combined minus 36 in his 181 minutes played. Those two will be tested by a Miami team that is defined by its effort and grit.
