The Brooklyn Nets have a very quick turnaround when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
The Brooklyn Nets are going to be pretty wiped out heading into this game against the Memphis Grizzlies on the road. The Nets played on Tuesday night at home and now they are traveling to Memphis after dropping an overtime game against the Denver Nuggets. To add insult to injury, the Nets lost to the Nuggets 144-139 as they go for their first road win of the season tonight with a 1-3 record overall. Brooklyn took a 125-123 lead with just a little more than 24 seconds left in regulation, but Nikola Jokic tied it with a hook shot with just eight seconds left to send it to overtime. Dennis Schroder scored 28 points to lead the Nets, but he was outshined by Jokic, who scored 29 points with 18 rebounds and 16 assists. The Denver center became only the second player in NBA history to reach those numbers along with Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson, who did it twice. Brooklyn played well though, scoring a season-high 40 points in the first quarter and 72 points in the first half.

The Grizzlies will be favored as the home team and they’ve had a day of rest, but they are coming off a 126-123 loss against the Chicago Bulls on Monday. The Grizzlies were leading the entire game until the middle of the fourth quarter. Desmond Bane had a great game, scoring 30 points, but Memphis blew a 20-point lead to fall to 2-2 on the season.
They were not able to stop Zach LaVine, who also scored 30 points and turned it on in the fourth with 11. Memphis will likely get off to a great start once again, especially with the fatigue of Brooklyn, but the question will be if they can hold on to it.
