Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks will take the court against Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
The Dallas Mavericks will travel to Phoenix, Arizona, on Friday night in an NBA regular season showdown. In Arizona, they will take the court at the Footprint Center against the hometown Phoenix Suns. The Mavericks head into this game with one of the best records in the Western Conference. They have been alternating around the standings with the Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 3 spot. They still sit a game behind the Houston Rockets and several games behind the conference-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.
Last weekend, they took down the LA Clippers by 16 points led by a 20-point performance from Quinten Grimes. They followed that up on Monday with a big win over the Portland Trail Blazers by 24 points. Luka Doncic led the way in that win with 27 points on 10-of-19 shooting and seven rebounds. He leads the team this season averaging 28.8 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game.
The Suns are barely clinging on to an even .500 record at almost the 30-game mark. They are just under halfway down the Western Conference standings, teetering with the Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs. They lost two straight games heading into their Christmas Day showdown with the Denver Nuggets.
They lost by eight points to the Detroit Pistons before losing by 27 points to the Nuggets on Monday. Kevin Durant leads this team in scoring, despite only playing 18 games. He is averaging 27.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. He is followed by Devin Booker who is averaging 25.1 points and 6.4 assists per game.
