The Sacramento Kings (13-14) are set to host their Pacific Division rivals the Los Angeles Lakers (14-12) in back-to-back games. This is the second game between the rivals with Los Angeles winning a high scoring affair earier in the first week of the season. In that game Los Angeles came back in the fourth quarter led by a LeBron James triple-double, leading the team with 32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. These two games will be a test for both teams looking to keep pace with the rest of the Western Conference. If the season ended today Los Angeles would be the 10th seed, the final play-in team in the conference and Sacramento would miss the playoffs altogether.

Anthony Davis went for 31 points and nine rebounds in the win while Rui Hachimura (18 points), Austin Reaves (16 points), D’Angelo Russell (16 points) and rookie Dalton Knecht added 10 points off the bench. For Sacramento, Domantas Sabonis also finished with a triple-double leading the team with 29 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. De’Aaron Fox added a double-double with 28 points and 10 assists in the loss.
Sacramento has started to play better over the last six games going 4-2 averaging 125.1 points per game. The positive uptick for Sacramento started when Malik Monk was inserted into the starting lineup. In seven games as a starter Monk is averaging 18.1 points and 7.3 assists per game giving Sacramento another playmaker to complement Sabonis, Fox and DeMar DeRozan.
