The Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings play the second game of this series at the Golden 1 Center on Saturday afternoon.
The Los Angeles Lakers look to take a commanding lead against the Sacramento Kings going up 3-0 in the season-series on Saturday. The Kings are also trying to avoid losing three games in a row as these two just played on Thursday. LA got the best of their division and in-state rival winning 113-100 on the road. The Lakers will try to go for their third straight win but the Kings will be the slight 4.5-point favorites at home tonight. Despite the Lakers’ recent struggles, Los Angeles is only a half-game back of the LA Clippers for the Pacific division lead. This is while Sacramento is still three games back and in last place in the division.

LeBron James was the main headline coming out of the Thursday game against Sacramento. While James had respectable numbers scoring 19 points, six rebounds and seven assists, the legend set another record for breaking the NBA mark of regular-season minutes at 57,471 to surpass another Laker legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. James wasn’t the only Laker star who had a great night. Anthony Davis finished the night with 21 points and an even more impressive 20 rebounds. It was Austin Reeves who led LA with 25 points. The game was close most of the way but the Lakers were able to break away in the fourth quarter with Sacramento getting within three late with a great jumper from De’Aaron Fox with eight minutes left. But LA went on a crucial 10-2 run late to ice the game giving the Lakers their third win in four games.
Despite the loss, Fox had another great game scoring a game-high 26 points along with five assists and three steals. Domantas Sabonis backed him up with 18 points, 12 rebounds and nine assists while Malik Monk finished with 17 points. The biggest slip of the game was the Kings in the first quarter with Sacramento getting down 14 early. The Kings showed resolve hanging in most of the way but they will need to get off to a much quicker start tonight if they are going to split this home series with their biggest rival.
