Lauri Markkanen and the Utah Jazz will take the court against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night.
The Utah Jazz will head on the road in the latter half of the week in the NBA regular season, taking on the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv Forum on Thursday night. This is a battle of the slumping teams. To everyone’s surprise, the Bucks enter their eighth game of the season having lost six of their first seven games and sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference. Their only win this season came in the first game of the season against the Philadelphia 76ers, who are 1-5 to this point. They have lost six games since then, including close one-point losses and 23-point losses as well.
In November, they lost twice to open the month at home against the Cleveland Cavaliers and on the road in Cleveland, both by less than three points. Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 31.0 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists as the team’s star player. He is accompanied by Damian Lillard, who is averaging 27.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game, but that just isn’t getting it done.
On the other side, the Jazz also have just one win this season and the same amount of losses. They sit at the bottom of the Western Conference by almost two games. They started the season off 0-6 before winning their first game of the season in their last outing on the road against the Chicago Bulls 135-126.
Looking to start a winning streak, Lauri Markkanen leads the team with 18.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. He is followed by John Collins and Keyonte George, who both averaged 16 points per game. Collins also adds 7.7 rebounds per game, while George adds 6.9 assists per game as well.
