Pascal Siakam leads his Indiana Pacers against his former team the Toronto Raptors for the first time this season.
The Indiana Pacers (6-7) kick off a three game road trip against the Toronto Raptors (2-12). Heading up north and across the border is a familiar place for Pascal Siakam, who played his first seven and a half seasons in the NBA in Toronto including winning the 2019 NBA Championship. Toronto started a rebuild last season by trading Siakam, which launched Indiana all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the 2013-2014 season. This season Indiana is off to a slower pace with All-Star Tyrese Haliburton not playing his best basketball and a few injuries disjointing the team on the offensive end. This season Indiana is scoring 10 less points per game after putting up the most points per game in over 40 years.

While Haliburton is off a beat this season, Siakam is playing some of the best basketball of his career. The nine year veteran is averaging 19.9 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game on a career-high 45.6% shooting from three.
Siakam’s former team is looking to snap a seven game losing streak. That is the longest active losing streak in the NBA sinking Toronto to the bottom of the standings, but the top of the NBA Draft Lottery if the season ended today.
During this rough stretch Toronto has three losses by just one possession and one more by just four points. Overall this season Toronto has been scrappy with an average losing margin of 9.5 points. They are coming off a tough loss at the buzzer in their last game against the Boston Celtics and look to shake that off with a win over Siakam and Toronto to start the week.
