The Nets most recent game ended in a 114-104 loss against the New York Knicks on Sunday. Karl-Anthony Towns took over the game after missing a game, scoring a game-high 26 points while adding 15 rebounds and six assists. Cameron Johnson led the way for Brooklyn, scoring 22 points on the night. The Knicks were only three points up at half, but New York ran away with it in the second.

Charlotte is trying to avoid losing four out of its last five games and it is coming off a loss to the still undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs became just the fourth team in league history to start the season 15-0 after a 128-114 win against Charlotte on Sunday. The loss came for the Hornets despite Cleveland playing without Donovan Mitchell and LaMelo Ball scoring a game-high 31 points.
Darius Garland stood up in a big way, scoring 25 points with Ty Jerome taking the spot of Mitchell in the lineup and he scored a career-high 24 points. This is the first matchup of the season between these Eastern Conference foes.
