The Detroit Pistons are starting to put it together this preseason with all of their young talent welcoming in veterans to push them to the next level. Cade Cunningham, Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren and company finally having veterans and shooting around them in Tobias Harris, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley. They take on the Golden State Warriors, who are leaning on young talent to extend their contention window around veterans Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and others. Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, Brandin Podziemski and Trayce Jackson-Davis all bring energy and a different look to a Golden State team that has dominated the league for nearly 10 years.

This preseason Cunningham has paced the team with 13.7 points, 7.0 assists and 6.0 rebounds per game in 24.6 minutes per game. He is coming off his best outing with 25 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists and two steals in 31 minutes against the Phoenix Suns looking like a potential All-Star.B
Ivey has looked dynamic next to Cunningham in the backcourt averaging 18.0 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game on 57-50-83 shooting splits. Ivey has scored at least 16 points in every game with just three total turnovers showing marked improvement in new head coach JB Bickerstaff’s system.
For Golden State so far in the preseason it has seen strong play from the young players as well. Moody is leading the team in scoring at 14.7 points per game while Kuminga is shooting 53.8% from three on more volume than any of his first three seasons in the NBA. Podziemski is stuffing the statsheet with 7.0 points, 4.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in just 23.8 minutes per game.
