For the first time since a grueling seven-game playoff series the Denver Nuggets and Minnesota Timberwolves face off. In that second-round series Minnesota upset Denver on the road after falling behind 15 points at the half. Heading into this season Minnesota and Denver are favorites to make it out of the Western Conference led by two All-NBA stars. Denver enters this season with the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic, winning his third, and coming off a Bronze Medal in the Olympics over the summer. Jokic leads a hungry Denver team featuring Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Michael Porter Jr. and newly acquired Russell Westbrook. For Minnesota, the team is led by Anthony Edwards, who is coming off a season where he made his second All-Star selection, first All-NBA and won a Gold Medal with Team USA.

Edwards picked up right where he left off in the regular season averaging 12.8 points per game in 16.3 minutes during the Olympics and 23.5 points per game during the preseason. He is coming off a 31-point outing in Minnesota’s last preseason game shooting 8-13 from three.

Minnesota has two new faces in rookie Rob Dillingham and Donte DiVincenzo, who was acquired in the Karl-Anthony Towns trade, that have played well in the preseason. In three games Dillingham has been fearless, playing 22.0 minutes per game averaging 10.0 points and 4.7 assists per game.

DiVincenzo brings another tough defender and shooter to Minnesota as a starter, off the bench and as a closer. He has found his stroke from three over the last two seasons and is not slowing down with 54-54-100 shooting splits along with 4.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game.
