Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies host the Chicago Bulls to start the second week of the NBA season.
The Memphis Grizzlies (2-1) start this four game home stand with their best overall win of the season. It is early, but hanging 124 points on the tough Orlando Magic defense with six players in double-figures showed flashes of how good Memphis can be this season. They take on the Chicago Bulls (1-2) who are looking to bounce back after their second loss of the season. This season Memphis is looking to get back to the success and trajectory the team had just two seasons ago as one of the contenders in the Western Conference led by Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Desmond Bane. Through three games Morant has shown All-Star flashes again, but more importantly Memphis has depth and balance that very few teams have displayed early in the season.

Morant is leading the team in points and assists averaging 20.7 points and 7.3 assists per game. His playmaking has opened up the offense that features six players averaging double-figures and 10 players scoring at least six points per game.
One of the early season standouts has been fourth year forward Santi Aldama. This season Aldama is averaging a career-high 17.0 points per game along with 5.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. His shooting from three has opened up Aldama’s offense starting the season 9-17 from three shooting 52.9% from beyond the arc.
For Chicago the team is still trying to figure out how all the parts work together. In their only win of the season Coby White went off for 35 points on 7-13 from three. In their two losses White has scored just 19 total points. When White is clicking the rest of the offense settles in around him with Zach LaVine, Nikola Vucevic and Josh Giddey.
