How to Watch Hornets at Rockets: Stream NBA Live, TV Channel

LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets start the season against Jalen Green and the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.

Heading into the 2024-2025 season, two of the most exciting young teams in the NBA tip off against each other. The Houston Rockets made a major leap last season with new head coach Ime Udoka nearly making the Play-In Tournament. Houston’s young core of Alperen Sengun, Jalen Green, Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith Jr. meshed well with veteran additions Fred VanVleet and Dillion Brooks to give the team the right mix of talent and leadership. That is what their opponents on Wednesday, the Charlotte Hornets, are hoping to replicate. Charlotte enters the season with a new head coach in Charles Lee, a young core of LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller, along with a roster filled with players all entering the season with chips on their shoulders.

Miller is coming off a rookie season where he progressively got better month-by-month. He showed flashes of being the centerpiece of a team as a wing scorer, playmaker and overall leader alongside Ball, giving Charlotte a bright future.

For Houston, heading into this season the team is coming off a 41-41 finish and nearly making the Play-In Tournament. Through 22 games Houston was 13-9 and one of the best defensive teams in the league.

The Rockets are leaning into the young core signing Sengun and Green to big rookie extensions. Houston added sharp-shooter Reed Sheppard with the third overall pick in the draft, adding depth, playmaking and shooting to one of the best overall young cores in the NBA this season.
